S beats a Vtec.. Unbelievable

hey guys, maybe someone will remember but when I first bought my S about 2 months ago, I was talking about how it was unbelievably fast for it to be an S type and crap. and that it might be a Vtec. well anyways... I was driving on a big street/highway and suddenly when i was pulling up to a red light on a 2 lane road and as i was slowing down for the red light in my Manual 96' S type Prelude, and this dude just pulls up real hard from behind me in the second lane with his green 98 Auto lude. And I see him waiting for the Green light and sh** and reving his engine, which he did by holding the brakes while pressing the accelerator, and when the light turned green I just flipped iton first and got a head start of about 1/3 cars length and I was almost done with the second gear. Then when I saw that he was gaining up on me, I waited for the rpms to hit the redline and right at the redline I just flipped the third and my car just ripped away from me and I was ahead of him by a half a cars length, and when i was done with the third i switched to fourth and I left him behind for about 1 car length. and thats where i had to calm down and hit the brakes for the upcoming intersection traffic lights. So I actually whipped him, when we got to the intersection he pulled up next to me and asked me if it was a Vtec, and i said it was an S and he just started cussin at me, not in a offensive kinda way but a surprize kinda way, he didnt believe me and told me to show him that it wasnt a Vtec. so we pulled up to a gas station and I showed him my 2.2 liter Soch S Engine. You should of seen the guy's face. lol. but mostly of all you should of seen my face when I realized that I beat a Vtec with my S. He said his was an SH, which i actually dont know the difference between the SH and a regular one and he said that I proly fixed somthin up and its not really an S prelude or even a Prelude at all, which was a retarded comment. I dont even know how its possible, anybody have any answers to this phenomena? lol . And guys, dont be saying im lying because Im really serious, I mean i dont know if i should believe it myself but... thats the truth. By the way, since i bought it, I bought a 5Zigen FireBall Universal Muffler, a T306 Aluminum Home made CAI which i bought from a friend for 80$, and a little hood scoop which was installed for my car in a garage (waste of money). ANd thats it. So What Do you guys think ???

well 97-01 SH's only come Stick....also...an Auto VTEC is pretty fast..."faster then most daily driving Auto Car's" so it is something u just be proud of if what u say is True...

wanna race my '94 Lude VTEC hahaha kidding...nice kill tho...two thumbs UP

probably bs'ing about his lude, but im not too supprised about an s 5 speed beating and auto but great accomplishment still. o yea they do take some HP our in the auto lude is what ive heard.

i dont believe that at all, unless he was the shittiest driver ever, a 190hp car losing to a 160 hp car? not very likely

Actually, the 4th gen S models had a 2.2 L SOHC 135 HP engine. Amazing if this story is true.

Ok, well i duno why he was holding his brakes and reving, but its what he did. THis is true, and im not bullsh**ing you guys. im tottaly serious. Maybe it was because his car wasnt that well maintanced and he didnt take good care of it. and maybe he cuts down on good gas. And I use a 93 gas all the time and change my oil every 2800 miles.

and ye, thats what the guy said, he said he had an SH but it was auto, I didnt say anything cause i didnt know anything about SH or the 97 up preludes.

well SH are all standard, also you would hold break and hit gas because throwing it from the neutral or park will mess your transmission up really bad

i think he did beat that Vtec prelude with his S type. prelude VTEC probably tires are 5% left .
it happen to me ,i beat Vtec with my SI
but my Si is heavy Mod , vtec stock
his tires spinny bad while i'm just going

well ye he sort of screeched the tires in the beginning, but then he held the rode, but waqsnt goin to fast, at least not fast enough to catch me. hey, i think i got a theory... maybe the guy tried to floor it in the beginning but then he saw his tires screech and he left it of the accelerator cause he knew that he would just stay in one place with his tires spinning so he tried easing the accelerator and therfore did not go too fast. but I think he would have caught up with me anyways, right. but the traction and maybe he didnt maintance his car well, and some other benefactors made me beat him. oh and by the way, i was on the road and there was this Mercedes CLK ( dont know the year, but 4 door), and i just tried to pass him on the other lane, but he just ripped away from me, dam, mercedes. i was pissed.

i've raced a 97 prelude SH semi-auto......and i was ahead of him by 3 cars. After 3rd gear thats when he was pulling closely, and i had to stop cuz of the next intersection. This is when i had my Si engine before......After i did my swapped H22A JDM.....i'm smoking all the Si out there now.
