Think of it this way: How many hundreds of thousands of vehicles run just fine with no additives at all? And everyone knows higher octane alone will not make any vehicle run faster. All it does is help prevent detonation, or preignition. If your engine doesn't ping without the booster, it is just pouring money down the drain. The only legal way they can claim they are increasing your gas mileage, is because you are burning less gasoline at $1.95/gallon, when you "dilute"(?) it with $24/gallon octane booster. Look at it this way: If you add two 16 oz cans (1 quart) of "booster" substance to 10 gallons of gasoline, you now have 10.25 total gallons in your tank, which will take you farther than 10 gallons would, when used at the same rate of consumption. It is a false economy, because that quart of booster cost much more than a quart of gas would. I believe there are times when a fuel additive might be justified, such as a water removal agent in a very rainy & humid season. Gas line antifreeze (Heet) in a -40 degree below zero blizzard, etc. But I don't believe you should need anything regularly, unless you are running a pre-unleaded car on unleaded gas (some lead substitute will protect the valves, a 12.5:1 compression 1970 LS-6 Chevelle SS will need that stuff plus lots of octane booster, or better yet, Sunoco 110 leaded racing gas). If you have pinging, just go to higher octane fuel, it's less costly than the additive. JMHO...

Hope You Didnt Burn Any Valves. I Really Believe In Using Additive But Only To Clean The Fuel System. Injectors, throttle Body. Fuel Rail, But Only About Every 30k Miles
