Security Light

I have a '94 LeSabre and the "security" light comes on the dash intermittently. It's never caused me a problem, just wondered what possible reasons it might come on for.

Re: Security Light

There is a resistor in the pass key 2 system that is part of the VATS(Vehicle Antitheft System) The secutity light means that the ignition switch is not reading the resistor, so any key with the correct "teeth" will work, regardless of the ohms on the resistor. Minor issue, just tell anyone that asks that it's the onstar light.

Thanks for the quick reply. I like the "onstar" thing.
