320CE Catalyst

Hello

Have a 1993 Mercedes 320ce here in the UK. I very soon am going to have an LPG conversion added due to the price of fuel here.

This will drop emissions dramatically - what I want to do is replace the catalyst with a straight pipe temporarily.

Anyone out there done this to any petrol car? I am wondering about the lambda sensor which sends some information back to the fuel injection system. On using LPG all will be probably be ok however the car will still use petrol on idle - surely then the sensor will try to weaken the mixture as there is no auxilliary burning going on.

Thoughts and comments appreciated

on 93's there is only 1 lambda(02) sensor and it is before the catalyst, you should have no problems with the computer controls. Also the car was designed to run with a certain amount of backpressure and noise reduction, it will run louder and probably idle a slight bit rougher, but you still won't feel it vibrate.
