1995 Camry V6 LE door lock/unlock sound
Hello,
I have been experiencing this problem for sometimes now. My camry 1995 V6 LE central locking produces this sound of locking/unlocking the doors when the car is either running or is idle. It does not actually locks/unlocks the door but it just makes this sound. Anybody sitting in the car obviously notices that and asks me why I am locking and unlocking the doors. If I lock it and leave it locked nothing happens, it happens when it is unlocked. I am thinking it is the bad sensor or some circuit that is causing this problem. I am afraid that one day it might lock me out and the central locking system might be completely dead. But before this happens I would like to take care of this. Has anybody had this problem or if anybody knows how to fix this. I would highly appreciate any help. Thanks. |

Thanks for the reply.
How do I check for the wire thats causing the short? And where do I find this wire harness near the door hinge? Do I have to remove the door panel to get access to this harness? I would appreciate your help if you could further help me out. Thanks. |

Re: 1995 Camry V6 LE door lock/unlock sound
Easiest way to find the lock wire is to take off the door panel and use a digital multi meter to check continuity on the lock wire itself. Toyotas use negative trigger locks, which means the wires rest at 12 Volts and trigger the locks when the wires get a ground input. It's likely, like one of the previous posts said, that you have a piece of bare wire going from the door into the car that's hitting metal, causing the locks to trigger. If you test for continutity and it turns out that everything is fine, then my question to you would be this....do you have an aftermarket security/keyless entry on the car? If so, there could be a problem with that.
