Post Shenanigans...Must Read Entirely

Hey all,

Am back after a family vacation for a couple weeks and have a story to share with you. Unfortunately this was just after the vacation, as with 6 people and their luggage in the car i was in no position to race anyone except the kids on bikes, but this one isn't just about racing so pay attention...

So i dropped the family off at the airport to fly home, and i'm on my way back down the highway going home, my wallet full of cash from Dad for a tank of gas for driving the family everywhere on the trip.

So here's me, gas needle just over E cruising down the highway when this little silver 2000 neon pulls up next to me....with 6-7 ladies packed into it. These gals were pretty nice, all 20ish, and waving at everyone on the road. They were also going about 140km/h on a 100km/h road, so just a little fast. That was interesting...

I fill up with gas and start heading to my cousin's place in Toronto and this Civic ('98ish) pulls onto the road infront of me. I honk cuz he pretty much cut me off and the guy flips me the bird. Well he then cuts off the guy in the left lane and we end up next to each other at the light, a few cars infront of us.

Basically he continues to drive like a dope and i get back infront of him after a few daring maneouvres and he steps on it, but rides the clutch as he lets out. i know cuz he revved up and didn't start to go anywhere right away. I floored it, and at 50km/h when you floor it in ol' beastie, she goes. I wiped the floor with him by about 3 car lengths. The guy was a poor driver, in a stock civic, acting like a moron.

Now here's the real meat of this post.

I got to my cousin's place and we went out for kareoke. Afterwards it's him and his girlfriend and a mutual friend in my car, and my cousin was just a little too drunk and decided to start yelling out the window. Not random woohoo's either....as in you f*ckin b@$t@rd go f*ck yourself.

I keep putting his window up, but he puts it right back down again, and unfortunately the old car doesn't have a window lock-out switch.

Well his yelling pissed one guy off. Now this guy was in an '86ish Camry with one headlight broken. Anyways, so i stop at a light, and this guy pulls up next to us and starts yelling at my cousin. I tell the guy to take it easy, that he's drunk and doesn't know what he's doing.

Well, this guy doesn't accept that and starts to get out of his car. Thankfully the light turns green and the cars infront of me had started to go so i hit it. But he started chasing us. This basically turned into a police chase without the police cars. His old Toyota had nothing on me, i left him behind after a few quick manouvres through traffic so i could open the car up to 150km/h on a 60km/h road. The only reason i lost him is because i don't think he dared to go that fast and i wasn't gonna wait for him to do something stupid.

In summary of the 'meat':

Please don't do stupid things nor let passengers in your car do stupid things, as the scenario could turn out to be much much worse then the one i went through. I suppose on the plus side i did get a kill out of it, but when you think of the possibility of what could have happened with all the crazy people out there i think it was nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Be safe, have fun.

whoa... that's insane, well it's good that you are ok in the end of it... you should have a car like mine... my j30's back windows just don't go down at all... so you don't have to worry about other passengers... but it's true, lots of crazies on the road these days.

My apologies for the double post.

My rear windows only go down 1/2 way so it's not so bad, but as you can see it's still enough of a gap to be an issue....

Re: Shenanigans...Must Read Entirely

i leave the windows down on my car, it feels good w/ the wind, and my first rule of thumb...

if they're drunk, leave them where they are and get the daily beater to pick them up that doesnt' have automatic windows and tie them up in the back seat

as for the stupid drivers...the stupid drivers around here have huge sedans or older cars w/ V8s so i punch it and they hang w/ me, for instance...2 friends one has a Ford LTD (5.0 or 5.8 model i don't kno) and thats a BIG V8 and he's hanging w/ my friends Mits. Eclipse GS-T and the LTD has the automatic disadvantage...now...thats what the crazy drivers here drive!!

Re: Shenanigans...Must Read Entirely

yea i drove one of those gigantic 5.0 ford ltd's so i know what your talking about, but i wasn't crazy, actually i got that tank to get 21 mpg because of my driving. I get about 23-25 in the j30 now though, even though the average driver get's about 20-22

Yeah the old sedans hustle pretty good considering many are under powered. Look at mine. The damn thing only has about 150hp at the rear wheels and considering the weight that's not much.

What you have to take into account is that the car is already going 50km/h and has great torque. Lots of fun!

Most of Canada's crazy drivers, and i think most would agree with me, are the soccer Moms and professional dicks that drive SUVs.

All in favour?

Well, here in Bakersfield, everyone and their mom drives an SUV or truck. I see more lifted SUVs or low-rider trucks that I do riced out Civics.
