okay this is for those of you that have a vafc hooked up, recently i finally got mine hooked up, and i noticed that the engine rpm on the vafc is different from my tach, i can redline my motor at 8200 and the vafc only says that it reached about 5500 rpm. this can't be correct, what is the deal with it, any answers will be greatly appreciated. thanx

Yo, i just put a V-AFC in my ride also. The reason the RPM's dont match is that you either didnt initialize it before you did anything, or you went thru all the steps, did some tuning and decided that you didnt like what you did and chose option #6 to initialize. However, when you do this, you need to go back and go thru the initialization process again. I know this because the exact same thing happened to me.
What kind of car do u drive? If you drive a 98-00 civic Ex [VTEC], i would be curious to know what some of your settings are (granted you know how to set it...cuz Im still learning how to set it) |

yeah i got it figured out nowwhen i was playing with it. i had it installed and tuned and it was running great. then a couple of dayz later i got a nitrous kit installed and i had to initialize the previous settings. well when i was setting it back up some how i skipped the car select and it was set for a 6 cylinder rather than a 4 cylinder. after i got that fixed it worked fine again.
i have a 92 hatch with a b16a and now nitrous, so my setting will be completely off from what you need. go ahead and give me your email address and when i get it tuned again i'll send you my settings for a start, but my settings may make your car feel sluggish since we have completely different setups. |
