I have a 1996 Dodge Stratus 2.4L with 98K miles on it. recently i got my o2 sensor, saprk plugs, spark wires, and cool pack replaced. before that i had my rear main seal and valve cover gaskets replaced. now the problem is whenever i turn on my car, it stalls. it will run as long as you have your foot on the gas. if you are just sitting, the car will not idle. instead it will just shut down.
Any ideas as to why this might happen? HELP!!! |

Re: 1996 Stratus Idling problem.
you need to check what is the code first!!. Possible a Idle Air control problem.

Yah, check the codes, but it sounds like they will give you an EGR failure code. I had this happen and it eventually went away. I was too cheap to replace the valve/solenoid cause its 100 bucks.

It sounds to me its the crank sensor. You should check your fire in the plugs by inserting the plug into the wire and get someone to turn it over for you. if the same two on one side do not fire its either your crank sensor or your cam sensor.
