I have a question for you guys: I helped yesterday this girl to reinstall the sofware that came with the ipod (drivers+itunes) since her system (windows XP) had to be reinstalled.
Anyway she had a bunch of music on the ipod that she ripped from her CD collection and after the itunes was installed it wiped off everything from the ipod. She was afraid this might happen since aparently it happened to her brothers ipod as well. So do you guys know WTF is this, did Apple designed the sofware to wipe off the music for some stupid copyright reasons or is something else going on. Also is there any way to recover that music or will she have to ripp it from her CDs again? Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Ipod Help!!!
there is an auto-update feature in iTunes that can be turned off. if u plug the ipod in and something has changed(in this case, no music in iTunes) then it will change the ipod to whatever is in the library. there is a way to turn it off if u look under the settings. and i dont think that there is a way to get the music back.
