need your guys opinion on wether i should try buying a skyline through this guy!

Ok so i noticed him first off from a car he's auctioning off on ebay. I saw he implied that he could get a hold of nearly any japanese car and have it shipped over and converted into U.S. spec.

Heres his auction:

I proceeded to take the email address from the page and email him inquiring price quotes for several cars. ( see listing below )

He emailed back with the following:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's the prices you requested. Prices include shipping and
legalization.

93' Toyota Mr2 Turbo T-Bar-$7500US

92' Nissan Skyline gts -$8000US

98' or 99 Nissan Silvia -$14,000US

90' Nissan 180SX-$7000US

90' Rx-7 single turbo-$5500US

Let me know.

Gino
RPM Importing

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking damn... and he included the price of shipping and conversion into those prices. That is a steal after reading all the post on here about how MotorEx is the only company that does it and it cost $30,000+

I emailed him back thus morning and enquired about why its so cheap and how i would go about paying for it since im not getting it off an ebay auction. I asked a few other questions that hopefully will be answered. When i get them i will post them.

Let me know what you guys think, if its a scam or not. I mean it seems pretty credible but i would like to know more information.

Thanks

i cant believe thats legit, because if u bought those cars domestically (in japan), they would be that price. maybe he's sneaking them over thru an underground tunnel

Re: need your guys opinion on wether i should try buying a skyline through this guy!

There are very few, if any, eBay cars that end up being legit.

The sellers can't even come up with a beleiveable price. Only $8k for a shipped and legalized R32 GTS? Yeah right.

Motorex wants at least $18k for one of theirs, and no one else has gotten the certification for the legalizing process anyway.

Motorex includes legalization in their pricing. With the typical legalization charge of $15k for an R32, it would be like getting the car for only $3k.

The owners of ebay should block the advertising of any and all Skylines forsale, at least to countries where they are not readily available. Too many suckers out there.

I would be wary man... ive been through all that B.S. before with legalizing etc etc... and id ask serious questions, getting a car over from JP is no peice of cake... i can tell you that much, shipping (if you want it in one peice ) is 6k+ (for a container)... i dont think this is too legit

Re: need your guys opinion on wether i should try buying a skyline through this guy!

well one site says 20ft container is $1450 and another says $900, it all dipends on the shipping company. I really believe if its a car we sell here then it should not be a problem, as long as the engine and safety equipment are the same.
