Spare Tire Inflator

i have just found out the other day that my car doesn't have a can of the spare tire inflation in it. i went to look for a replacement can and all i could find was an OEM one and it is $40! is there any cheap alternative?

Re: Spare Tire Inflator

Not really...one of those little portable tire inflator things...probably cost about the same though.

Re: Spare Tire Inflator

What years came with this can? I don't think my '90 has it when I was stripping my car interior apart...

Re: Spare Tire Inflator

every z32 came with a deflated spare tire. when you put the spare on, you hook up the can to it and it blows the tire up. there is a little holder for it in the spare tire well. here it is (at the very bottom of the page) http://www.ultimatez.com/shop/index....65&cart=236792

Re: Spare Tire Inflator

I found one at a junk yard so I took it. I dont know if its full or not but I dont want to use it up so when I need it.

You could always use a bicycle pump to fill it up a bit untill you get somewhere.

Re: Spare Tire Inflator

You'd be there for a month using a bike pump...

The Z31s have this same canister...I don't know if I would trust a nearly 20 year old canister of compressed air to get me off the side of the road in a pinch...

Just get AAA, man...probably the best ~$60 you'll ever spend. Not only will they rescue me if I get a flat or something, but they save me a shit load of money on my insurance. If you're getting reamed on insurance, try getting AAA and go through them...AAA rocks.

Re: Spare Tire Inflator

i would get AAA but they left me on the side of the raod for almost 3hrs with a broken car while i was on crutches JUST because i was on a boarder line between 2 tow zones kinda sucks after that it kinda left a sour taste in my mouth about AAA specially when it was a simple 10mile tow and the tow zone i wanted to go refused my tow
