2003 yukon denali navigation system
I am planning to intall a factory navigation system in my 2003 yukon denali. Do I need a special wiring harness? Is there anything else I need to know before I install the system? Also, I was told that a special controller was needed for the navigtion system to play dvds. If anyone knows anything please let me know. thanks

Re: 2003 yukon denali navigation system
in your Yukon its plug and play...simple and easy. Remove your radio and plug in the NAV. The NAV cannot play DVD movies without some expensive modding.

You'll also need the factory 6-disc external CD changer if you plan on listening to CDs while using the navigation function, assuming you don't already have one (the changer). Plus you may also need to have the nav unit reprogrammed at the dealer...

can the nav system be fixed so you can make entries while moving?

Re: 2003 yukon denali navigation system
you can add a DPST toggle switch to the VSS wire and DATA wire to switch them off, then you should be able to make moving entries. I have never tested it, but these are the only 2 wires that provide speed data to the NAV. Of course it could have the opposite effect and lock you out all of the time...
, but in theory it should work.
