Re: VS camshaft

they say that the gt1 does not need any other upgrades, but i dont know that i totaly believe it, i would still recomend using upgraded valvesprings, pushrods, and retainers. You might also conside the compcams extreme energy L67 Cam.

power increase from VS cams ~45hp, but watch your MPG drop straight down

Re: VS camshaft

i dont know exactly how much i dont run an aftermarket cam, but everyone i have talked to says it has cost them more MPGs than any other modds. i am pretty sure " rippin 12s" or however he spells it has an aftermarket cam, you could PM him and ask how much his mpgs dropped exactly

Re: VS camshaft

expect to pay around 1300 for professional installation, thats about what everyone has been saying, not worth it as far as im concerned, unless you have already completed cheaper modds and still need the extra horses, or can install it yourself

Exactly, if you can do it or a friend can do it. All of a sudden it becomes one of the best bang for the buck mods.

Re: VS camshaft

Is this 1300 ur talkin about for when they remove the engine? Cauz I've heard it can be done through the passenger wheel-well. How much cheaper would that be?

Re: VS camshaft

yeah you can install it through the wheel well. i dont know if 1300 is assuming that the engine must be removed or not... in any cast tho, it will be expensive, so try to find a friend who can do it
