Remote car starter installation

I bought a remote car starter for my 97' runner, but it didn't come with instructions. Does anybody know how to install one? My starter has a RED, BLACK, GREEN, YELLOW/RED, YELLOW, BLUE, BLUE/WHITE. Where would I conncect these wires to, in the engine compartment, or under the dash? By the way, its a Sunbird Remo Start car starter.

Re: Remote car starter installation

If I was you I would leave this type of installation to a professional or serious DIYer. I have installed many remote starters in many different types of vehicles and if they are not installed correctly you can end up with major problems. (Ever seen a car drive away on it's own, LOL.) I am not saying that you can not do this on your own, it's very possible. I would be wary. If you need to ask where to connect the the wires then this just might be beyond your current level. No offense, really. If you want to pursue the installation I can help.

Maybe they have instructions you can download from their website (if they have one).

Dude, I run my own shop and I will tell you to run, not walk away from that remote starter. If you really need one, save up the money for a real one.

Ya, this one isn't that great, I bought it for $5 off eBay. I'm thinking of getting a $200 dollar VIPER alarm system from Best Buy. Its got an LCD pager, 4 sensors, and a 150db talking alarm.

"...and a 150db talking alarm."

"GET AWAY FROM THE CAR!"- "DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR!"

Ya, something along those lines, its so sensitive, if you just stand next to it, it beeps 3 times, for a warning. Then if it senses something again within 5 seconds, it says "please step away from the vehicle!" if it senses glass breakage, it says "intruder alert, intruder alert!"
