1962 Engine block numbers decode???
My 1962 Corvette engine has F04I6RE stamped on the pad on the right front below the head. What does this number mean.....I think the RE means 327-340HP with Manual transmission. thanks

help I hope....
I looked for my book but I'm moving right now and I already have it packed away. The "chevy parts interchange manual" should be available in any book store and will explain how to read the numbers.Don't quote me on this but there should be another number below the first that is hand stamped on the block. It will include the vin number to the car.
