but rear wiper works fine and front fluid and wipers work fine. Could this be a loose wire in the motor or a bad fuse. I recently replaced the whole switch in the dashboard, but this did not make the fluid come out. Help, thank you.

Re: 97 cherokee-rear wiper fluid not coming out
I'm going to chime in because I have the same problem. I haven't used mine in a while but I seem to recall not hearing the pump. Where is it located for the rear? Thanks.

I don't hear the pump/motor being triggered like I do when I use the front wipers......and the pump/motor seems to be under the left front fender and hard to see or reach. The Haynes book doesn't tell much about it. It says that there is a rear washer motor, is this the same as the pump?

Re: 97 cherokee-rear wiper fluid not coming out
you have to go in through the wheel well to get at it. there are 2 pumps in the reservoir. the top one is the rear.it usually burns out probably because when the fluid gets lower than the pump, theres still enough for the front to work so people think theres still enough and they keep trying the back one and that likely overheats the pump.thats my theory anyways

My 1998 Jeep does the same thing
I have a 1998 jeep cherokkee where the wiper works, but thefluid does not. I do not know where the resivor is, I assume that there is one resevor along with front? I have the Chilton repair manual and it talks about the rear motor assembly, but does not say where it is? Any help

two screws hold to fire wall, and one bolt holds the fron of the tanks! remove those than pull tank out, unplug the low washer wire on top, the two connectors one for each pump, than pull the hoses off the pumps, be ready for the fluid to leak out! pum screws ion to the bottom of the tank via an in tank strainer! very easy to fix!!
