clutch go bye bye!!

well ive been feeling my clutch slipping since i baught my car but i wasnt use to a turboed car so i though it could be normal..... well i decided to take a ride around the block tonight and when i went from second to third a nice high rev and grinding sound came and it wouldnt catch gear .. when i came to a stop the clutch wouldnt respond.. i couldnt change gears... now when i realese the clutch the car shakes and now i cant shift into my gears... when the car is off the clutch stays jammed in when i press it down... so im thinking im in need of a new clutch... am i right ? please let me know of the possible things that could be wrong with my car.... thanks

dont bother with the fluid, you need a new clutch by the sound of it. But, the fluid reservoir is the smaller one with the white cap. Like the brake one, but smaller. On a 2g its right in the corner on the drivers side of the firewall. 1g is the same I think, maybe more towards the middle.

Re: clutch go bye bye!!

Cant check the clutch without droping the tranny. Most shops would charge around 8 hours labor, so I doubt anyone did it

Re: clutch go bye bye!!

Hmm. Reading your descroption again, it COULD be air in the hydraulic system. Unlikely, but its easy to bleed it quickly to check. You can find instructions on the net or in a haynes/chilton if you need it.

well the line to the clutch fuid has a kink in it and i just got off the phone with the previous owner and what he got fixed last time was the clutch adjustment and he said most likely its the adjustment that went bad again.. because there was a new clutch installed 2 1/2 years ago... so im takin it to the mechanics 2morrow to see what they tell me .
i need my car back... cant stand driving an {automatic HONDA!} its painfull..lol

Re: Re: Re: clutch go bye bye!!

[let me know how it turns out cuz i have the same problem with my car now.but im not sure its the clutch or the tranny. its starts up fine but as soon as i put it in gear it stutters and shakes real hard.it feels like something is jammed.even when i turn the car off and put in neutral and push the car it moves a little bit then it jus sounds like it dragging something. i dont know what it is but i expect the worst.right now im jus saving up for a new tranny .let me know what happens with yours

well i took the car to the shop and found out that the pedals pushing and the hydrolics are good ... but i need a new clutch... im short on some cash for now so im replacing it with a stock clutch. itll work good for now!!! but in a few months ill have enough to mod the total engine. so a new turbo, injectors, bov, will do me some good ... then ill change the clutch.... thanks everyone for your input... hopefully ill get my car back tomorrow.no more honda
