Re: HELP on specs please

It's one of the last of the MK1(b)'s. I didn't think they made a 1.4 in that shape. I had a MK1(a) which was the earlier version. Yours had some small body revisions. Mine was a 1.3 and a 1.6 was available. They were called the 213 and 216. Versions available from 1983 to 1989 included the 213, 213s, 213se, 213VP (vandan plas), 216, 216s, 216se, 216VP. The car was the first front wheel drive Rover and the first in a long partnership with Honda, producing 'similar' identical cars with the Honda badge. If you look at the Honda Ballade the interior will be almost identical, sharing the same door cards, dash and layout. Your engine will also have Honda components fitted in places. Certainly the S versions shared the engine with the Maestro and Montego along with wing mirrors. There is a company on ebay UK that has many parts for them. It's SMC Trading, the sellers name is smc343 so you can do a search. They sell just about everything from engine bits to body panels, depending on what they have in at the time. As for specs, you may want to take a peek at http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/ It's an unofficial austin rover web site and will give you a facinating insight into many many models across the whole AR span from old to new.
