TS-49 (bright red)

HI, peeps...

Well, I bought a kit today that requires this paint (guess which kit ). Problem: can't find it anywhere. Even HLJ doesn't carry it!!! What to do???

OK, not that I will be building this kit in the near future... But I still need a couple of cans. Maybe our friends in Finland can help me out on this one? If not... I have no idea what to do, and the car wouldn't just look right with any other red.

I suspect it's a Ferrari!

Italian Red

I was at a hobby store yesterday and recall seeing Tamiya "Italian Red." I can't recall the number, but you should keep an eye out for it.

Tamiya "Italian Red."

What you see in a spray cap is not exactly what you get on model!!!

Tamiya's "Italian Red" is TS-8. I used that on the Ferrari I built.

Yes, it's a Ferrari, F1-2000, actually! Got it for 362EEK (that's like just around $20). Love the kit.

The paint is not Italian red, it's "Bright red" - probably because it's a Fomula 1 car. As a last resort I could try mixing Tamiya red and orange 5:2, but I would really love to use a spaycan...

And it's a shame about Finland.

Ales, my ITR in the gallery is painted with Tamiya Bright Red if you want to see what it looks like on a car. :silly2:

Thanks, as the last resort I will try this. Although I really would like to get a spraycan...

If you did send it you would have to send to via surface mail (shipping) as aircraft in general do not like pressureised containers in them.
