Tinting the highlights, will it work???
I've been thinking of ways to give my car a better look while trying to spend the least i can. Now i thought of the idea of maybe tinting my headlights with the lowest shade i can find (probably a 5-10%), and then using those ultra bright head lights, to give it that smoke or blackout look. now i was wondering if anyone have tried this and how it turned out, i don't wanna spend $15 on tint and then $20 more on headlights just to find out it don't work or look good at all.

Re: Tinting the highlights, will it work???
You cant use window tint or tint spray on the headlights. They get to hot. But you can bye the plastic cover like in the pic above

Re: Tinting the highlights, will it work???
Couple of my friends have them, cops have never bothered them. The only thing is that you will lose lights so a lot of them use brighter bulbs for the fogs and use those for additional light

Re: Tinting the highlights, will it work???
I see, so you can actually just replace the plastic cover and get the blackout ones?? i thought you would have to replace the WHOLE headlight to get it to look like Jake's.

Re: Tinting the highlights, will it work???
No the blackouts go over your headlight you dont replace anything. It will take you less than a minute to put them on. Check out ebay, sometimes they are on there

Around here, you wont get out of your driveway with headlight blackouts.
But every area is different, you may get lucky.

Re: Tinting the highlights, will it work???
yea thats my brothers car... see what i do to a car when i have a bunch of ricer shit to mess with
but anyways those headlight covers i bought for my car ($34.99 at autozone) but they were too dark, couldnt really see the lights at night and i didnt want the hassle of taking them off and puting them on everyday so i just keep them on his car, never been pulled over for them... i have tail light blackouts also, and i really like those!

Re: Tinting the highlights, will it work???
Cali cops actually gives a fcuk about what people do to their cars?? i mean if neons are legal which distracts OTHER drivers, why not blackouts?? i live in PA so i'm ALL the way on the other side and you don't see too many mod-cars up here, just a couple of bodykits and thats it
