My speedometer is squeeking!?

This is one of the most annoying things I have ever experianced in my whole life. My speedometer squeeks really bad.

Also today, it started waving around between the speed i was going and maybe 2 or 3 mph each way left and right, it had never done this until today, maybe its just coming loose?

Am I going to have to remove the whole dash to fix this or is there an easy way to access the pointer thingy?

I love cats!!

Re: My speedometer is squeeking!?

Sounds like your speedo cable has come loose. Take out the gauge cluster and see if u can pop it back in. Pretty simple procedure to do.

I found out the hard way with my throttle cable. WD-40 is not a lubricant. I repeat, not a lubricant!

Sorry bout suggesting the WD-40, i jsut took a shot in the dark. What would work then for future reference? im looking for a lubricant that will work good on plastics too. i usually have a hard time removing my clear corners when changing my bulbs. in the past ive used the WD-40 which works somewhat ok. thanks
