is it worth the price?
I saw a 1995 Jeep Cherokee for $3,500 and I was just wondering if thats a good car for the price. And if its decent on gas.

No body could tell you if that was the good deal or not by just MY and price. Need more info.
But this is that I would do if I were you: 1) Go to edmunds.com or kbb.com and put the information of the vehicle to find out how much it would "sell" for. 2) go check on sale ads (can be done at edmunds.com or any other sites). Now you can check your local market price for the vehicle. By doing those two things, now you know if you are getting a good deal or not. Additionally if you have done the test drive; How was the test drive? Any rusts? Any oil leak? Any signs of water leak? Any signs of overheating (many Cherokee are known for their overheating)? How was the AC? Did shift smooth? Any unusual noises? If you have any doubts, ask them if you could take it to a local shop to get an inspection done. If they said no, then you know something is wrong. Inspection costs ~$30 or so but well worth it. Good luck! |

True indeed good advice!
I would just tell you to write up a bill of sale including a statement concerning the sale being contingent on you bringing the vehicle to a certified mechanic of your choice and that the vehicle be mechanically and electrically sound or free from major defects. Just remember Jeep parts from Chrysler are expensive. The older the vehicle and the more electric gaggits it has the more expensive it will be to maintain. The vehicle you choose should also reflect the type of person you are. If your handy fixing the elcetrical components might not be a problem for you. If the vehicle has a hitch look at the receiver, if it has wear and the owner tells you they never pulled anything think twice about buying the vehicle.
