Re: Eclipse GSX sux?!

why do you love the car? if you lim,e it cuz its fast than any car taht you make fast will have problems over 150k. if you take care of it and dont drive it like a dumbass it will for more than 150k. dsms are cheap to make fast but they are heavy. the only other car i would consider getting other than my dsm is a crx. but it will never happen because my gsx is to0 sick

dont look at milage its about how hard you drive it how much you care for the car how much maintenance you put in to it. Ive seen GSX's with 220 k miles on them and still going strong. Its all about that and how hondas are reliable cars not really ive seen GSR messed up from racing in need of a new engine at 50k miles and all that. If you keep it as a dailiy driver and take care of it your shit will last for a hella long time.

Re: Eclipse GSX sux?!

^I agree, it all depends on how you take care of your car. Just do your normal maintenance and dont anything stupid to it.

Re: Eclipse GSX sux?!

You want heavy, look at VR-4s. For awd cars, GSXs are extremely light.

Come for a ride in my GSX. You wont remember what the word "unreliable" means.

Re: Eclipse GSX sux?!

You can break down and destroy a car within a thousand miles of it coming out of the factory. Or you can make it last over 200,000 miles with oil changes and belts... mileage isnt really a useable yardstick as to how well a car has been taken care of... all it means is that a car with more mileage has had greater opportunity to be misused as opposed to one with lower miles.

After 150,000, a valve job can't hurt. My valve seals were shot at 112K miles (oil collected in the spark plug area plus around the gasket and manifold)...I pick up my car today (YAY! no more driving the accord!) so I had a gasket and seal job done. Mechanic says its almost brand spankin new.

Remembers one thing... almost always, know where these opinions are coming from. People say a lot of stuff about a car, but have almost never owned that car, instead, remotely knew someone who had a friend whose brother's best bud's older brother's father uncle who had it with some minor problems...

well heres a story my dad bought a 88 chevy pickup. at 105 thous the cam lifters went bad, so my dad took it to a well known mechanic, the mechanic rebuilt the engen and put top of line mains, pistons, mollypiston rings. The truck was sold to my brother, and now it has 404 thous the body needs work, the trans never was rebuilt and still sifts excelent, the only thing that might make a differnce is this truck is mostly highway miles.

The Pont is that past history will make a differnce, I am eyeing a 98 gsx with 83 thous miles I plan on rebuilding when she goes caput if I get it.
cars are just like people, take good care of it, it will last along time and take of you including your pocket book thats my 2 cent

Re: Eclipse GSX sux?!

dude dsms are heavy compared to crx. seroiusly i wish they made more carbon fiber shit for our cars. horsepower is good but you can only get so much out of a 4banger before you start to blow shit up. so lighter for sport compacts is better. crx are lighter but hard to get good hp out of but thier weight compensates for their hp. an awd dsm that weight 2500-2800 pounds with about 400 hp. fuck man that would smoke alot of shit

I bet ya alot of the dsm's are unrelyable came from the fast and furious movie. Where he uses to much nitrus and blows out his ¿¿¿floor board???

So now when most people think about eclipses they think about that.
