Re: Radiator crack

The same thing happened to me during last winter, and it was hell. I basically was putting a new battery in and accidentally leaned on the air tube across the radiator to much and the top part cracked. I will say this right now that bondo is not going to hold. Period. I tryed 4 coats of it and it never held good. Best thing to do is get a Aluminum radiator, it's light weight and sturdy, and any radiator from a junked 4g civic or 2g crx will fit. That's what I resorted to was a wagon radiator.

Re: Radiator crack

Oh, and if you are going to the junkyard to get one, make sure you get the right mounting brackets. There are basically two mounting brackets holding the radiator up top. THe reason being that if you have a radiator that only goes halfway across the front beam, then you'll need another mount cause alot of civic's and crx's had full sized radiators that go across the whole front beam to the other side. SO if you get a full-sized radiator, make sure to the get the mounting bracket on the right side. And all automatic radiators will fit.
