Anyone ever get the feeling God hates you?

So I've done the church thing, bible study thing, prayer and all that for a while, but I think God has been giving me the message that he will never let me succeed in life. I didnt expect to live better off cuzz of church and all that, but i didnt think God would purposely screw around with me like he does. and to add insult to injury he always throws someone else success in my face. for example

-i've been poor for a long time, but even after graduating with a good major, i still make $10-20G less than my friends with similar majors. I get by paycheck to paycheck usually while they are living the good life.

-iv been playing poker for a while and have never walked away saying i had a lukcy day. The other day some guy cleaned me out with at least 5 flushes and a royal flush, after that another guy gets 7 impossible straights(5-6, 10-8, 7-5...). anyone who has played poker with me for a while will agree i get burned like no one else.

-in vegas I lose 20 BJ hands IN A ROW in a machine while my gf hits the second highest hand in video poker TWICE IN A ROW.

-in basketball i hit 8 threes in a row before the game, then miss 5 in the game and 4 layups all with the ball bouncing around the rim and eventually rolling out while the guy i gaurd banks in a three and i block another one of his shots and it still goes in.

-i need money so i sign up for a medical experiment where they pull ur wisdom teeth then pay you, they need a ssn card, but when i look where all my records are its mysterously gone. i try to get a temp one at the ssn office but a whole host of random events happen to cause me to be late and not get to sign up for the experiment

-Heres a funny one: I have never ever had a sex dream. I have dreams where I'm about to have sex, but then a flood comes or the house catches on fire or a man in a mask starts chasing us, just random crazy crap.

These may not seem like big things to anyone else, but I am confident God lets me get as close to success as possible to get a taste for it, but then pull it away and laugh. These are the most recent events, but I'v had this theory for a long time and now believe it more than ever.

thats funny cuzz i play the lottery thinking well a whole host of bad luck could turn into one outragelously lucky ticket hehe. Oh and I forgot to mention that yes i know people are worse off, and i should feel lucky for having a great family and friends, but im sure everyone has the feeling God is singling them out on purpose sometimes. I have just been getting that feeling a whole lot more now. And ever since I'v seen Bruce the Almighty i think of that movie when something happens. I'm just waiting to see when my big day is. when things are finally going to go may way. Sorry for the complaining, but thats what this forum is for right?

Personally, whether one believe in God or not, I do believe there is a saying that says "God helps those who help themselves". Now that phrase itself can be intepreted in so many ways such as if we are to help ourselves then why have God help us etc. With that said lets go one by one with your problems...

This implies that the the God you are referring to is not a kind loving all God. But one that likes to install misery to those that look up to him. After going through Bible study etc you may have to re-evaluate yourself and your thoughts on Gos once again.

Welcome to the real world. There are alot of folks in your same situation. it may be a product of the employer or the employee or the interview process itself but its a competitive world out there and not everyone gets payed the same. God has nothing to do with it. Bottom line: Get more expierence establish a killer resume and go for a better job that others envy.

If you are living paycheck to paycheck why are you wasting your money gambling? Again what does God have to do with it? maybe in this case God is messing around with you making you lose theyby teaching you a lesson of not wasting your money away. But then that brings me back to the above that God is not so loving? Bottom line: Don't throw away your money unless you have more to throw away. Otherwise practice on friends at home (with fake money) and once you get better than try you luck at the casino once again.

not God, just skill. I would think God if exist would have to worry more about other important things than a basketball game. Bottom line: keep practicing not everyone is MBA material.

This I might agree is God doing his work. Nobody looks good without their teeth, Look at it this way, consider it a favor from God.

If God does exist and is indeed is doing all these things to you you have to sit down and analyse the reasons why. If Gods message is to make us better people then the reciever of these messages has to figure out whats wrong and how to better the situation. Which brings us back to the begining, God helps those who helps themselves.

^ most of what you said I agree. one thing i learned from bible study is God does inflict damage on his people from the story of Job. The vegas trip was a present for my gf's birthday so i saved up for that. I had never been on a vacation before so I thought it was worth it. And gambling with my buddies is just $5-10 games. The basketball, poker, sex dream examples are mainly just metaphors for how i feel. They did happen, but if that was the only thing that happened then i wouldnt think twice. Its not like I've given up and am just walking around hating life, i just have this feeling more and more now that God is hanging around doing lil things everyday that piss me off. i don't like to complain because it makes you sound weak and isnt very constructive but i was really pissed today cuzz i missed that wisdomt teeth meeting. Oh I have been told my wisdom teeth should have been pulled out a long time ago, but it costs money to do that so i never did it. This experiment would pay me to let them pull them so its a double plus to get in on it.

What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger. Take what happens to you as a life lesson, not a mysterious force that is destined to kick you in the teeth. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, whether it seems trivial or not, learn from it. If you don't learn something new everyday, you're not looking hard enough.

That's not all that bad.

Here's what happend to me.
When I was 2 years old both of my 2 grandpa's (great grandpa and other grandpa), 1 gramma (great gramma), my dog, and my grandma's boyfriend died. I learned about death that year
When I was 3 my brother was born...
5 my other grandpa dies
11...this was not a good year. Best friend died of cancer, I dislocated my hips, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and scoliosis...I made it to almost half of my 5th grade year.
Now mind you this doesn't seem that bad...if it had been spread out a little...but it seemed like once somthing bad happend I couldn't go 6 months without somthing bad happening to me.

well just talked to the mechanic and even though they said they were 60% sure there was no engine damage it now looks like im totally screwed..i need a new engine ..costs $5000. Anyone need a talon for parts? Please respond soon before i shoot myself.

Please don't shoot yourself. That isnt the way to solve anything. I understand that this is rough but there has to be another way. Selling the talon for parts is a good way. I know people that'd pay good money for talon parts, sometimes they're hard to find around here. I'll ask around. You graduated as a comp sci major? You should be able to get a better paying job than 5.50. I'm not ragging on you, actually I really respect what you're doing. I'm not sure that if I had to I'd be able to take care of my fam, with my dad being sick and all. Good luck. I'm a very good listener if you want to talk. It'll get better Mike, just keep your head up and think about it this way, it could be worse. You'll get through it all.
