The 1g manifold and O2 housing are interchangeable. The 2g stuff is better, if you have a choice. The downpipes are NOT interchangeable, they must match the car.

Considering the price of a 1g turbo, its a CHEAP upgrade to the 2g. You will notice a substantial increase in power, especially with those supporting mods.

Re: upgrade to 1 gen turbo????

Running the 14b (1g 5spd turbo) on my 2g was when my car was really the most fun to drive. I was running low 13s on pump gas and mid 12s on race gas. Not a ton of power, so the drivetrain was a little happier, etc. Night and day difference over the T25.

wait I thought you had to modify or get a different exhuast manifold to switch over to the 14b. If can use the 1G exhaust manifold as a bolt on why do people buy tweaker kits so they can upgrade to a 14b or 16G?

Re: upgrade to 1 gen turbo????

The install kits are only oil and water lines, and a different outlet pipe (to the intercooler). The turbo "bolts on" to the manifold and O2 housing. Great upgrade for a 2g, especially considering they are like 100-150 bucks for good ones.

Re: upgrade to 1 gen turbo????

2gs with 14bs are running as fast as low 12s at 110-112 mph. Typically around 300 whp. On race gas of course. Pump gas will be more like high 12s at best.
