Question Looking for a turbo-sounding catback exhaust

i want to get a catback exhaust for my car, but there are too many different ones that just put out a sound that i don't really like. is there any way to hear or test an exhaust before you buy it? anyway, if anybody knows of a good catback that has a turbo sound let me know where you got it and if you like it so i can check it out because that's what i would like, thanks

A catback can't mimic a BOV sound

The GReddy SP and EVO sound good, as does the Apex'i World Sport. I have a Brullen catback, and I like the sound more than either of the aforementioned two, but it can be a bit harder to find.

what type of sound? "turbo sounding". that's a quick fix. all you have to do is install say, a t4 front mount i/c, bov, wastegate, i/c/ piping, turbo timer.........

sarcastic one 'aint i? j/j

what kind of sound do you want? deep/quiet, most turbo exhausts are pretty loud, but that's because of the amount of exhaust gasses exiting the muffler, (it's a much higher rate and and greater velocity).

the muffler you choose will have the tone effect. also, some people choose to remove the resonator as well. that increases the exhaust tone level and changes it's pitch as well. i've heard removing it can give you a few x-tra h.p., but in all honesty, i don't remember seeing any review or dyno comparison to leaving it on or removing it.

my advice, get a quality cat-back. the big names like hks or greddy sound great and retain the resonator. thermal makes a system that sounds deep and very aggressive but it is fairly loud. guess you'd have to be more specific on what type other than turbo sound your going for.

Yeah, but remember that Brullen has many different styles of canister available. Mine is their most popular model... the flat black chambered canister with dual 2.5" polished tips. Lifetime warrantee.

Here is my car and my friend's car. We have the same exhaust:

And here's a particularily dirty pic of the underside of my car. I really should take a cleaner pic someday....

ive got the apexi world sport catback, it sounds nice and mellow(just a little throatier than stock) until you hit about 3500 rpms. i'd think that with a hi flo cat that it would sound alot meaner. basically, if ur looking for a really aggresive sounding exhaust, world sport might not be what u want

A year ago, it was retailing for over $800 CDN... Probably a little under $500 US now, but I don't know the exact price. Brullen Exhaust is an affiliate of my club, the Toronto Accord Club, so we got them at a discount directly from the company.

i bought a greddy sp, well worth its money...sounds nice and deep/ very mellow sounding... it has one of the lowest pitches ive ever hear on an exhaust besides the evo.. looks pretty tight from behind..but only thing is...its not a canister muff and its almost mirrorlike if your behind me at night.... very blinding.. haha....dont get it if your a cell-phone junky...cause your not gonna hear jack goin down the interstate or wide open road.... sounds very similiar to my pops 85 vette.
