Sqeeking noise when turning left.. Please Help! I hate the noise
I have a 95' GC
when i turn left it sqeeks, not to loud, but driving me nuts. I took it to sears auto center, they said nothing is loose on the front end, he said maybe its the steering stablize unit, it looks like a shock. Only sqeeks when turn left , turning right is fine. Does it need to be replaced or can it be oiled some how, and if i need to replace, how much? Thanks!! |

Could be a bad steering stabilizer, bushings gone or somethin'. Contact your local Jeep dealer or an off road store, they can give you a price.

The steering stabilizer does look like a shock absorber only it is installed in a horizontal position.
Instead of replacing it outright, remove it and take a short low speed test drive to see if the squeek is still there. JD |

Thats a good idea.. But would it be hard to remove since all my bolts are pretty rusted?

Or WD-40, my personal favorite. I kinda like the smell of it. Woah, was that oversharing?

On a more serious note - WD40 isn't as good as it was since they took out the propane propelant. Not as effective at locating vacuum leaks and worn throttle shafts as it used to be. JD |
