Engine oil Leak -- Camry 96!!

Hi,

I have a Camry 96 which is had run 143K. While driving the engine oil is leaking and continue upto 5-10 minutes after that. I have already changed my Valve cover gasket, Oil pane gasket and Dtributor O-ring. It appears that my mechanic is not really detecting the right fault. The oil leak is (seems to be) from the pipe just below the ditributor. Sometimes there is also burning smell found while driving.

Can anybody help me in finding the problem? Thanks a lot.

I have had an Oil Sender pressure switch leak, you may want to check that out...

You could have your mechanic put some flourescent liquid into your oil and then apply a black light under your engine and you'll see right where it is leaking.

Thaks everybody for your suggestion. But can you guess any part from which oil can leak? Oil was leaking from from the ditributor and after changing the o-ring ( seal ), now that point stopped leaking. Now leaking from a point just below that. Don't know exactly which part may be to change. Is this leaking is due to the gaskets, seals or this may also be due to some clog in oil pipe.

Rear main seal? The burning smell is probably the oil leaking onto your exhaust.

I got this diagnosed by a mechanic. According to him the oil is leaking both from front and rear seal. Any idea how to fix this for cheap? Is any stop leak or similar kind of stuff will help?

You can try running one of those high-mileage motor oils. They are supposed to help prevent leaking from old seals. They might slow down the leak. Cheap fix.
