I had the abs codes pulled on my blazer and I came up with a front right wheel speed sensor (or vehical speed sensor). I have a 98 which comes with a "complete wheel hub assembly," and I have been told that the sensor is part of the hub. A year ago I had to buy new wheel hubs ($250) so I don't want to buy another one. I tried to see if I could purchase the sensor seperate but I couldn't find a part number. Any ideas? Also, what driving problems does this cause? Thanks for any help.

Check the connector where the wire coming from the hub connects to the chassis wiring harness. It lies on top of the frame rail just ahead of the wheel. Otherwise, the bad news is correct, the wheel speed sensor is an integral part of the hub and not serviced separately on this model. Replacing the hub is the only solution. Since the ABS module is receiving intermittent or no data from the sensor, its going to cause erratic ABS performance... not a good thing.

Re: Wheel speed sensor/vehical speed sensor?
Thanks for the info mate. I try and see if the hub is still under warranty. Thanks again.
