How to test parking barke

Hello,

I just changed the parking brake shoe on 2001 Youkon Denali for an effort to pass inspection Adjusted the starwheel and testion at the brake equalizer. Now I can push the vehicle in neutral but I can not push
in neutal with parking brake applied. The car still moves when running
in drive or reverse gears with parking brake applied.

My question is what is the test. With parking brake applied, you can not push vehicle in neutral or car must not move when running in drive or
reverse gears. Inspection guy wants to make sure car can not be
moving in drive or reverse gears.

Also the parking brake pedal goes to floor with little foot pressure. Is
this normal. When parking brake applied, I have checked cable tension
and cables are very tight and parking brake lever behind both wheel
moves to the fully open position.

Thanks for helping me out in this issue.

You will need to adjust the star wheels at the shoes a little tighter.
The distance between the rotor and the shoe is 0.026 in
After you adjust the shoes press and release the park brake pedal 3 times

why does the parking brake keep needing adjusting? I will be looking at taking in again for this. goes all the way to the floor, and doesn't seem to "halt" the car when parking on small grades, more like the transmission is "holding it" instead of the parking brake. on a 2002 yukon xl, should this not be a covered warranty repair? you the man with the experince... let me know, thx.

Warranty coverage is for 3 years/36000 miles.
