Smile fuel filter?

HAve just purchased a 98 metro hatchback manua transmission. Can hear the fuel pump when ignition switch turned. will run good for a bit then dies. brother thinks fuel filter---where is the fuel filter?

drivers side rear. Above the rear control arm, tucked next to the gas tank. Pain in the butt, good luck

Unhappy fuel filter

CAn't find the fuel filter. Bought a reapir manual; not where it shows. Dropped the tank but don't see it. HELP!

Maybe the person who had the car before you was running it without a filter. Stranger things have happened..

If it was run without a filter, your fuel injector is probably plugged good now. (sux) I'd get a fuel filter for it, and see if you can replace the injector. Maybe run some injector cleaner through it first, just to see if it will clear up.
