Stock Radio

I have a 2001 ford taurus ses i bought use and it came with a 6 disk cd player installed, last night when i got in my car the radio would come on but no audio coming out of the speakers, and when i try to change the radio nothing happens and when i try a cd or tape it wont play at all. Also when i try to turn off the radio it takes about 5 minutes for it to turn off. Any help is appreciated
