Speaker issue - Drivers Side - 99 Cherokee

Hello all - I've got a '99 Cherokee Sport with a malfunctioning front left speaker. I seen on other messages that this problem may not be unique to my vehicle as it sounds as if some others may have experienced this as well. I've done the customary checks and the problem is not the speaker and doesn't seem to be in the radio itself - the only thing left could possibly be the wiring in that mass of the harness. Has anyone who experienced this solved the problem?
Thanks

Re: Speaker issue - Drivers Side - 99 Cherokee

Hello jeep4fish. I had the same trouble with my 98. I found a broken wire in the boot going to the left door. With the door open you see a rubber boot and inside there is a lot of wires and 1 of them is the speaker wire. I wiggled mine and the speaker quit. Its hard to get at but if you pull the boot from the door end you can get at it but its hard and I can't remember the color. I ran a new wire and fixed it.

Sry for the delay in replying "old 300" - thanks for the info - was certainly a hassle with all the wires and the small space but was able to locate the break. Thanks again!
