stock clutch is good, you do not have enough to burn it up yet, lightweight flywheel not a good idea, you will have problems with it, driveshaft sounds like a great idea LS1 Alum will work just fine...

best mod i ever did was a Globel West trac link... even if your car is stock you can feel a big gain in traction from this...

How about a crank underdrive pulley? Cheap easy horsepower.

Re: What should I do next?

whatr you talkin bout nailz? 80s?

i can have a chromoly steel driveshaft built into my car for 100 bucks. are ls1 driveshafts aluminum? i didn't know that.

and what is Globel West trac link?

and what about stuff like subframe connectors, control arms and stuff like that. maybe i need to stiffen up the front to back weight transfer a little. im not too worried about the actual suspension because i just want my shit to go straight and go fast.

what should i do

Re: What should I do next?

underdrive crank pulleys will only hurt your car if you have a large power draw (ie system). theyre are a cheap easy mod, but not a huge difference in power.

the chromoly driveshaft is great, if you have 1200 horsepower. i would suggest getting an aluminum from either aftermarket or from a junked LS1.

if you want your car to go fast and in a straight line you will have to beef up the suspension. im going to get most to all of my components from bmrfabrication. ive worked with them a little already and its been excellent so far.

finally, i would say that the best way to get more power to the ground would be the clutch. i dont know much about the borge-warner, but i know that a factory clutch and an aftermarket are like night and day when it comes to getting the car to move faster...

Re: What should I do next?

chevyracincamaro,
so you are sure an ls1 driveshaft will fit in an lt1 correct. are the automatic and the manual driveshafts interchangable?. what kind of suspension mods do you think i should go with first.
i also think a clutch and flywheel combination would help me out a lot, especially since im running the stock clutch with 130K on it. it will slip if i dont hit it pretty close to right. how much difference would there be between an aftermarket stage 1 clutch vs. a stage 2 or 3, im pretty sure id be ok with a stage 1. i heard aftermarket clutches were hard to drive, ie you have to give your leg a real workout to drive across town, whudda yall thank?

Re: What should I do next?

and i do have a system by the way, not to much just a single jl w3 15 hidden in the trunk with an alpine strapped to the spare tire. i could lose a lot of weight without that. i love my system though. i dont really wanna get rid of my spare tire either.

Re: What should I do next?

At this point, on your current budget, subframes and LCA's w/ the relocation brackets would help you out. But I agree w/ T... you can knock off some time on your slip w/ a track link.
