i was wondering if anybody has descreened the maf sensor in their lt1? my brother did his ls1 sensor and felt some gains off of it but it made the engine throw a code, i think he may have bumped the sensor pretty good popping out the screen. let me know if you think this is a good idea or if its not worth it at all or what. tryin to squeeze some power out for cheap, as most camaro owners, i just cant get enough.

Re: LT1 MAF Descreening
Naw i called and talked to a few people. That screen is there for a reason. One person sait it keeps the air flow constant, if you took it out, on a dyno your power curve would be very jumpy. The other guy agree'd and added that if a piece of dirt would get in there it would catch it in the screen. He also said that after market MAF dont work. that the stock LT1 one already flows more air than the engine needs

Re: LT1 MAF Descreening
thats kinda what i figured, that screen kinda evens out the air so it passes straight through that sensor, i thought it would pull a little more juice out if the air didn't have to slow down there. hmmmmm......

Re: LT1 MAF Descreening
it's a bad idea on the stock unit...
if you are looking to upgrade only go with the Z06 unit with LT1 plug and play harness... http://www.ls1speed.com/
