car will not start......

I have a 2002 grand am SE with 3.4L V-6.Yesterday I took my daughter to school, car ran fine.got home, then my wife got in to go to work,& it would not start. It turns over fine.About a month ago I had the Fuel pump, filter,& guage sending unit replaced.I hooked up my fuel pressure guage to the rail,& have 55 PSI pressure,so I know it is getting fuel to the rail.I shot starting fluid in the intake,& it started up,& ran till it burned it all out. So,I am thinking it is somthing to do with the fuel injectors not firing?
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Chad

I think I fixed it.I believe it is the stupid passlock security.I did some reading, went out to the car, turned the key to the "on" position for about 10 min, then it started. It is blowing my mind, because I had a ford mustang a while back,& if you used the wrong key,it would start up,then immediatly shut down. But this thing had fuel pump running & everything,& would just crank over & thats it.The only thing the passlock was stoping(that I could tell) was the fuel injectors from firing.

Re: car will not start......

Passlock disables the fuel system if the computer doesn't recognize the resistor in the key so someone can't steal your car with a screwdriver. When the key or ignition switch get dirty, it can change the resistance in the chip, causing the car not to recognize your key. You can try cleaning the resisitor with a pencil eraser, or just put the key in like you did until the stupid computer resets itself and recognizes your key.

Re: car will not start......

I am having the Same Problem. I took it to the dealership and they changed out the Key Cylinder and it still does the same thing. I took it back and they replaced the battery and positive cable because it was getting corroded. Again im still having the same problems. im still trying to find an anwser to this too. it happens at least every other day.
