idling question...

My car has been idling a bit low in drive when i am stopped... one of my friends tried to adjust the throttle and it made it go up a bit, but the needle bounces up and down... do you think it may be time to check the transmission fluid? I have 105,000 miles on my Pro' and I bought it 3 months ago used.... It was taken care of poorly before...

i sort of had the same problem in my 94 protege. i would stop and a traffic light or stop sign or something and my idling would drop so low to the point where it almost stalls and then it bounces back up. it turned out i had to replace some belt that's related to ur idling control. i dont know which one it was. if i were you, i would go get it checked out at a shop. it wasnt expensive to fix.
