Cold Start Shifting?

Does anyone do cold starts? Where you dont hit the gas until "GO" and can shift right?

I saw a list of shiftpoints for a cold start for the WRX in the other thread, but I was hoping someone would know of other cars.
My car specifically is an FD type R with 720k on it, almost at fulltune
Anyone know the cold start shiftpoints for the RX7 Type R? Or maybe any other car?

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

why? cold starts suck in inital-d. they are slower and are riskier to take 'cause if you don't hit the accel at the exact right time it hurts your start-up or start interval depending if its time attack or battle.

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

Hot start is safer than cold-start? But cold start is better than hot start. But, cold start is less reliable than hot start? So its better to master cold start right? Better start times and such.

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

no... this isn't a driving simulator like gt3. hot-start is the best in initial-d since if you cold start your risking not hitting it right when it says go, thus LOSING time. hot-start is 100% getting the right start, then you just have to worry about shifting. in other words, don't cold-start... like i said before you lose your time attack start interval and battle start-up.

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

Ooh. Nevermind. I thought so. What if you gun it too hard at the beginning? What if you keep it too far into the redline on the RPM's? Would that ruin your start up? I should test it out I guess. Not red line it too far but not rev it too little. Like maybe keeping it on 10,000-11,000?

Any opinions?

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

no, just hold your foot on the accel. other ways are pointless and just hurt your time. its not gran turismo.

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

Oh, I thought at least that part was a little more realistic, ahh well. Anywho why is it that the automatics lose the start-up all the time? Even if its in a car with the best start up in the game?

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

some of them it isn't that bad but auto's shift at the wrong time. go drive a ea11r stock and see when it shifts, its completly wrong.

Re: Cold Start Shifting?

you can downshift with an automatic. also the version 2 EA11R bug musta been just a programming mistake. as far as version 3 is concerned, i really can't comment since i have NOT played an automatic yet. the REAL problem with automatics is when you wanna stay in a gear, like fourth say on irohazaka before the first turn after cp1.
