1996 Ford Windstar Check Engine Light

My check engine light flashes on and off periodically. The engine code says number one cylinder is missfiring. Usually there is no noticable loss in power, but if it happens during a stop, there is a noticable shudder when I accelerate.
I changed plug and wire to number one cylinder and it went away for a couple days, but has returned.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It could be the alternator failing.

YogsVR4? Must you bring your political agenda and opinions to an automotive forums board?
