Question Alero Roof Rack

I just purchased a bike that way I could leave my car parked for the majority of the time while I'm here at school. The bike was a P.I.T.A. to get into the trunk of my car so I also got a bike rack that goes onto the trunk and the bumper. It holds the bike fine and everything but every time it's on, it pushes on my bumper cover, temporarily denting it until the rack is pulled off for a few days and the plastic bumper cover recovers. It's also a huge bitch to get the bike and the rack on...it's too complicated for me. Anyway, I was looking into a roof rack for my car that way I could get the bike attachments and then change them to snowboard attachments in the winter when I head to the mountains. When I lived in Denver, a stealership quoted me like $500 plus install costs. I just got off the phone with the Oldsmobile Dealer here in Ft. Collins and they only want $233 INSTALLED!!! It sounds like a killer deal. Does anyone have any experience with the GM Accessory R/Rack for the Alero's? Should I get it?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Jeremy,

Check out Both the Thule and Yakima roof racks. They may be a solution. Just make sure their rack kits allow their bike attachments and snowboard are certified for the alero.

A basic thule rack for the alero is over $200 w/o the bike rack add another 70-120 bucks
