Well, got bored once again, heres some pics of the motor loosly put together hehe

also, any suggesttions with it? like what should i do with the cam gear cover? paint it or something? if so what colour? and thoughts and ideas with this? lemme know what u guys think.

also, whats the piece called that threads onto the end of the fuel rail on the distributor end?

Re: Teaser Pics

Dude...I would definitely use the term "loosely", very loosely. lol ...that thing looks like a bunch of parts just hanging out.

So, what parts are you missing on the cam cover?? The valve cover studs?? I see the two of them in the front...I bought a bunch of 89 Integra valve cover studs and they were wrong If you are missing some, the ones that fit the ZC are actually from a b18 out of a USDM 90-93 Integra. I had to buy those, so I can look up the part # for you.

So, the ZC is the only motor I know that needs d16a6 parts, d16a1 parts, and b18a parts

i have all the studs, i need the gromet things that go around the studs to keep everything aligned, but i need the bolts for the caps that hold the cams in, the guy forgot to give me those bolts (bastard) also, what throttle bodies can i use for this motor? will the one off d16a1 work?

and how can i set the valve lash on this motor? cuz the rocker arms are really weird! definately NOT like the d15b2 lol,

Re: Teaser Pics

always replace any bolts that u are missing with original OEM bolts from the dealership or get them from the same or similar motor from the junkyard.
as for the bolt at the end of the fuel rail...it's called a banjo bolt.

ok, cuz on the car i saw at the junkyard, it looked like it had a filter of some type screwed onto it, i duno, and i was gonna get bolts from the ZC at the junkyard most likely,

for the bottom end i used simple green to clean it then painted it with that silver paint

Re: Teaser Pics

I'd leave the timing gear cover off. I like the look of two gears just sitting out in the open, nuts flapping in the breeze

Re: Teaser Pics

aight dude...valve cover washer is what you need -
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/
Hit up the 89 Integra (model doesn't matter, all had a d16a1) and go to the "Cylinder head cover" section...their part # is 85799 - I dunno the real honda part number without looking on my invoice stuffed away in a drawer somewhere.
For the bolts...go to the "cylinder head" section and see if you can find what you need there. For OEM, this is the cheapest place I've found. The only thing is to make sure you have all your shit together when you order..they charge ~$7-10 shipping in the US, and a $5 (US) handling fee on every order for some shmuck to go pull the parts off the shelf and ship it to your happy ass

Re: Teaser Pics

you can adjust your valve lash one of two ways...

you can take a feeler gauge and "rip it" length ways to make it half the width, so it fits inbetween the rocker and valve, or you can just check the clearance in between the cam and the cam follower pad of the rocker, which will be just a TINY bit less accurate, but will work and be easy to do.
