transfer case leaking

I have a 93' Chevy S-10 Blazer with a new leak developing from the front left main bearing seal in the transfer case. Is this nothing more than a worn seal or could it be an indication of something worse? There are no other problems with the 4WD operation or powertrain. Has anyone done this replacement job themselves or do you have any advice?
