Need Help Honda_99.
I have a 98 Honda Accord EX V6 and the trans is leaking on the Drivers side right out of where the drive shaft connects to. I was told that i need a new trans. Is their any way arround this? Or what would you suggest that i do. Do you know if honda has any recalls on this. I have a friend that is a Master ASE Certified Tech and he was the one that told me the trans was shot and this is becomming a common problem.
Please HELP!!! Thanks DavidM1980 |

Re: Need Help Honda_99.
if its leaking at driveshaft and differential, you might need to replace oil seal. that doesn't require transmission removal, but you might have to shell out $200-$300 for that.
beside leak, how is transmission performing? any hard gear changes, any slippage?

Sounds like a driveaxle oil seal leaking, very easy fix cost is about 10 bucks for the seal if you do it yourself.... If your trans hasn't been giving you problems other than leaking fluid I wouldn't even think about replacing it. If your friend told you you need a new trans just for a little leak...... I would look for a new friend.
