Check Gage. Low oil pressure

Hi guys,

Recently, My check gage light came on, and the oil pressure meter is somewhat low. It is still between the lines however. I checked the level of oil in the car, and it is at full level. I am about due for an oil change, but coudl this be anything bigger?

Also, is this safe to drive with low oil pressure? The light is on, but it is still inbetween the "safe" measurements as the manual says.

Re: Check Gage. Low oil pressure

as long as your running 20-30 psi of oil your cool but that check gauge light is a serious warning. i would be concerned as well. take it easy on accelarations and such until you get it checked out

I just got my oil changed today, and had those guys take an initial quick look at it.

They noticed that once the engine is on, the pin comes up, but does not move at all. They said that it was very unusual if that gauge was actually functioning. THeir best bet was that it was the sensor, but said get it checked better asap. I'm going to try to get it checked friday. any idea what kind of money the sensor will cost me?
