sprint tranny question

OK i got a 91' Turbo Sprint (only made in canada 89'-91') its the same body as a normal sprint/metro/swift and its got a 1.0 ltr. and my tranny is going and im wondering if i can just put a normal sprint/metro tranny in or maybe a GTi? can someone help me please i cannot find out if i will be able to bolt on. thanx

GT sounds better. No idea if it would fit in a perfect swap. Also, I guess you should replace your ECU. :\

Yap.. I believe ECU and ECM are the same, and I believe you have to replace it if you want to swap to a 1.3L engine. Other idea is just to replace the old 1.0L engine with another 1.0. ECMs could be the same, but you have to check it out. Also you can ask any yunkyard for an used ECU for the new model. Sometimes it is as unexpensive as $50 or lower.

its a manual, and we had problems before and tryed an ECM and it was 300$ :O!!! so... i hope i dont have to do that again we took it back but only got credit.....
