Finaly time to sell her

I just posted my car on autotrader.com I listed it for $8000, she's got about 100k miles and is in good condition mechanically and deecent condition looks wize, they are hot items in my area. Anyone think the price is what I should be asking given I have the entire school year to sell it? Here's the pic I used, Ohh and don't worry I'll be getting a VR4 next summer so I'll stick around here lol.

Damn dude, that's hella sad. But at least you'll be pickin' up a VR4. That'll turn the frown upside down. Hehe I think $8K is cool but be prepared for bargaining...so if $8K is the less amount you'll settle for, you may have to up the price a bit. But then again, since your car's a "hot item" in your area as you say, you may get what you ask for. Now that would be sweet. At any rate, good luck....don't settle for anything less....she deserves the best.


By the way, what type of Viper Alarm System do you have? And what do you mean by "upgraded infiniti sound system?"

Dunno about the viper since it came with the car and didn't have any paperwork along with it, don't think it has a locaitor. My stock system was kinda getting scratchy so I got new infinity kappa speakers, still need the tweeters lol but whatever. I am willing to go down to 7500 if thats what it takes, the only problem with the car is the minor damage to the front bumper and sideskrt and a few little chips in the paint on the hood, I got an extimate on all three things and it came to 400, but since I'm selling it I didn;t go through with it.

thats too high man i mean mine is a 96 with 2000 invested and couldnt even sell it for 8k right now it is listed for 7800 obo lowest i will go is 7500. i live in idaho and snow is a pain so dif area dif results.

I agree. There is no way you will get 8k for a SL with 100k on it. Not to put you down or anything, but no way is it worth that much.



edit: OK I take it back, it could get 8k, depending on the right buyer.


I bought my VR4 1.5 years ago for 10k, and it's still work about 9 or so, but since it's a VR4 I could almost guarantee if I wanted to I could still sell it for 10k. I'm glad I made such a great investment

I wish you luck in getting your price If the car is in demand in your area, you might just get close to it. I'm sure you'll be chomping at the bit to get a VR4

Thanks Yogs, I just checked autotrader and other private party sellers have ads up for 94-95 base modles with more miles and less options and are usualy asking 8.5-9 grand in my area. I think I can sell it to some rich white kid (which abound around my area) for that price and make a small profit hehe.

lol, you'll find somebody, probly a teen that will pay that...they're called impulse buyers, and I used to be one. See a hot car, buy it for w/e they're asking and do it the day after you see it. I went through 4 cars, including my 3kgt right now in a year, but this is good enough for me, im done buyin cars..aside from a winter car of course. good luck man

Lol I just got an offer for 7500, thats my minimum and it's only the first day the add has run so I think I will wait and see lol .

Yeah, definitely take your time...just not too long because he may go elsewhere. But yeah, maybe tell him you have other people looking around at the car for $8K but will keep your options open in case someone backs down or something.

Thats exactally what I did. I was looking through the want ads today and there is a sweet 91 MR2 turbo with 91k for only 4200..... damn that looks like a sweet deal, too bad I don't need a car lol.

my 96 gt is only worth 6500 for trade in they will probably sell it for 8k at a dealership sucks but thats how it works.
