Exclamation Whats the best engine swap for a 93 mr2?

I'm about to acquire a 93 mr2 & the engine has high miles on it. I have all the equipment to do a engine swap. All I need is the funds for the engine, which should be a month or so.
I definetly perfer a turbo but I would be satified with a non-turbo & get an aftermarket later. It also has to be street legal.
Which engines should I consider?
By the way, I wouldn't be asking but I'm new at working on toyotas but I'm always up for a challenging project.

Simple, the turbo motor (3sgte)

if the car is currently an NA, you should get a turbo rear clip (3rd gen preferably, 20 more hp than 2nd gen, and has the ct20b turbo)

If it's already a turbo, just throw in a jdm turbo motor.

I agree with the 3SGTE if you want a turbo engine.
I disagree with going for the Gen III though.

OK I've heard of the 3sgte but what year of the engine had the most performance & power? I've been looking forever for specs and just came up empty handed.
Better yet if U know of a site with this info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Whats the best engine swap for a 93 mr2?

The 3SGTE that came to the US from 91 ~ 95 in the MR2 all had the same performance output ~ 200HP.

The other generation were not available here and that is why I do not recommned them. You are not going to be able to call up your local dealer and gets parts for it.
