Your Input Is Appreciated/In The Market To Buy Newer

I am in the market for a newer car. My research has led me with the following cars to choose from: Protege '00, Sentra '00, Carolla '00, Saturn S-series '00.

I discussed these options with my trusty mechanic. He favors the Toyota Carolla. I favor the Protege. "The Protege," he said, "is a good car, but has some quirks about it that are hard to get rid of, not to mention that it's difficult to find parts. The Toyota is extremely reliable, and you could find parts even if you get stranded in the desert."

My question is this: On a level from 1-10, how would you rate your satisfaction with the Carolla?

How would you rate reliability?

only 20?!

i would definitely go with the Rolla if i had to choose from those cars too. Mazda and Nissan are above average as far as durabilitly goes. and Saturns...well here's a little situation about Saturns:

my friend has a 96 Saturn with fewer miles than my 93 Rolla. his car burns oil like a crazy mother. the only mechanical problem my car ever experienced was when my car got rear ended.

which leads me to my next point of Corollas (and Toyotas in general) never die. i got hit at about 30 MPH (i was stopped waiting to pull into my street). i drove my car home. and it was relatively cheap to fix compared to other cars (based on cost of parts the insurance co. paid for).

so pretty much, a Corolla is your best bet. their customer service is really good too.
