Head unit shutting off
My headunit (a panasonic mxe-cq8600 or something of the like) will turn off while I'm driving - I'm guessing it's my alternator, since it shuts down when I'm stopped and the base hits, and at red lights it shuts off as soon as it turns back on. I'm almost sure that it's my alternator, but I just wanted another opinion.

Re: Head unit shutting off
does your car shut off too? because if your alternator is that bad the vehical wouldnt run if it shuts off the deck, and you probley wouldnt be able to start the car since the alternator charges that battery....more than likely there is a problem with the deck/wiring/speakers. how do your interior speakers sound??? are they all ok, or blown? that can cause the deck to work very hard if the speaker is blown or about to blow, and it could possibly go into protect mode (or short out...).

Re: Head unit shutting off
Everything is fine, no speakers blown and only the headunit shuts off. I'll have to pull it out tomorrow to make sure, but I had everything connected and secured with the shrink tubing.
